I don’t know if we can send a tail wag out, but I really have to give a huge thank you and shout out to Jonita. When I first discovered the NWP billing reporting issues and sent an email out for some direction or help, she immediately took this project on and grabbed onto to it like a dog on a bone. She called NWP, managed to get a supervisor involved, dug in and helped determine what our issues were and most importantly how to get Country Brooks water billing under control. She was relentless on not letting this go another day without resolution.
She understood my frustration and most importantly the time this was taking me away from other more important projects. I am relieved we have this resolved with NWP and I owe a huge thank you to Jonita.”

Kristin McCurdy (Cambria Luxury)
Last week, Kristen worked a little late then headed to the market on her way home.  As she got out of her car, she could hear a baby crying.  She searched until she found the baby; it was in a locked van with the windows cracked.  She quickly called the police.  As they were trying to get the baby out of the car, the mother appeared with another child and a number of grocery bags.  The woman was mad at Kristen for calling police!  A tail way to Kristen for taking the time to care enough to find the baby; it shows a true MEB spirit!

Mebbies Doin it Again!

Steve Sams and the Starrview at Starr Pass Team
“Dear Ryan,
I had the pleasure of meeting you a couple months ago in Steve Sams’ office at Starrview at Starr Pass. We had a chance to chat for a few minutes. At that time, I told you how very much I enjoyed living at Starrview and what wonderful service I have received from the management team since moving in, especially form Steve.
A week and a half ago, I woke in the middle of the night to find my master bedroom floor carpet wet. By morning, it was soaked! I immediately got dressed and went to the office. From that point on, Steve and his wonderful team including Ismael Mendez, Gerardo Carlos, Nuria Quijada and Gloria Schivers went into action.
I was out of my apartment from Thursday morning until Monday at 4:30pm. When I walked back into my apartment, it was as if nothing had happened. My bed was made; everything dusted and put back in place and new carpet in my bedroom.
I cannot express my gratitude for the wonderful team you have working for you at Starrview. It is customer service like this that makes me feel comfortable, happy, relaxed and safe where I live. I know that I can count on Stave and his staff 150% of the time. Every single one of these people is professional, courteous, friendly and extremely helpful.
Just wanted to let you know what an OUTSTANDING JOB they did. I was very fortunate that I was able to stay with my daughter and not have to worry about a thing and know the repairs would be done right. Hats off to you and your wonderful team at Starrview at Starr Pass!”

“It’s about time someone wrote a review since there has been a change is management. I live here with my wife and 4 kids and feel perfectly safe.  The main pool area was just renovated and looks spectacular as well as the front office, business center and weight room. Every apartment is also getting overhauled as they become vacant with new carpet, paint etc. and look brand new. As for the security concerns, management has heard the people and have contacted armed security to patrol the premises at night. The managers are awesome and friendly and not only answer your questions/concerns but also like to chat; they are not in a hurry to push you out the door. So far, I am very impressed with the maintenance staff. Our dryer broke, we put in a work order and within 30 mins it was fixed. We just upgraded to a spacious 3 bedroom and noticed around 6pm that it was still 86º and only blowing hot air. I called the emergency on call maintenance number at 6:15pm, went out to dinner and when we got home at 8:30pm the ac was fixed and it was 74º in our apartment. I would highly recommend this community.”

Unfortunately, our rent went too high, and we had to look elsewhere but believe us, we will miss Tiffany, Marcus, and Anna-Marie, who are a synonym of professionalism, efficiency and friendliness. Our requests were fulfilled on time, and they did not hesitate to go the extra mile to help the tenants. They truly are an asset to your company, and I would not hesitate to say “You are very lucky” to have such a great staff.

AMA Tributes
Thank you to everyone who attended the AMA Tributes on Thursday night May 9th.  We are all so proud of all of our Mebbies and especially our finalists Ana Medivil, Vicki Bishop, Todd Smith, La Borgata and Casa Bella.

Sharon Stewart (Tucson Corporate Office Manager)
A huge tail wag and thank you to Sharon Stewart for her continued involvement in Big Hearts for Little Hands, IREM and AMA.  Sharon helped raise lots of money and got the office staff to bring in lots of food for the IREM food drive.  Sharon also devotes much of her time to Big Hearts for Little Hands.  Sharon you are a Rock Star, and we really appreciate everything you do!!!

Danielle (La Borgata)
Yesterday was a year that I have been working here at La Borgata. I cannot believe how fast time flies. Since the beginning, (Danielle) has always been such an amazing leader/manager. I have learned so much from her in the past year, and I know that I will continue learning more and more as each day passes. It does not matter how busy it is here in the office, she always makes time for me if I have a question or concern. I would like to acknowledge her publicly and say that I really appreciate her! I love working for MEB! It is such a wonderful company, and I feel blessed to be a part of it!

Thank you to everyone who helped in any way with the Avalon Hills takeover last week.  A special thank you to Wendi Nash for working into the evenings and over the weekend getting all of the utilities set up.

Charlene Wooters and the Due Diligence Team
A huge tail wag to Charlene and the Due Diligence team.  When the team arrived to a recent due diligence, there were no files and records had to be re-done from scratch.  And a huge tail wag to the due diligence team who completed the Prescott due diligence in one day.  Great Job!!

Apple Tree is now leased at 91% and occupied at 72%, which is up from 52%.  Wow, great job Apple Tree team!!

Sweet Resident of The Monarch
I just thought I would share the sweetest thing a resident has done for me.  My battle with migraines is no secret and with them beginning construction to the front of my office, it got rather loud.  One of my residents ran into the office because she bought me ear plugs in hopes that it will help prevent my migraines or make them tolerable.
My jaw just dropped; that’s the nicest thing a resident has ever done for me! So I thought I’d share!”

“I've been a resident at Sunrise Ridge for several years and currently rent two 2-bedroom adjacent apartments. 
I'm writing this email to you to express my appreciation for the exemplary and professional conduct, service and attitude continually shown me by Linda Perino and her staff Kathy Smith and Brianne Rogers.  
But my intent for writing this goes beyond personal interactions.  Just as important is how the common grounds are maintained.
In my opinion, Linda has set a standard that very favorably reflects upon MEB. 
Often it's the smaller things that are overlooked.  In fact, the impetus for this email is the following:  When I walk to the office I choose to use a dirt footpath that winds behind some buildings rather than the longer paved road.  Just the other day, I saw that this part of Sunrise Ridge - which is infrequently used because it is in a 'natural' state - had been raked in a manner that reminded me of a Zen garden.
Few people use this path and even fewer would notice how it is maintained - but I did, and it was nice to see that this was done not to impress anyone but rather doing so is typical of the level of professionalism that exists at Sunrise Ridge.
Normally I would never comment about things like this, but I would be remiss not to.  When you have employees that demonstrate the level of service and commitment that these 3 ladies do, it should be brought to your attention.  All too often it's the negative that gets attention - but I have nothing negative to say.”

R&M Towing
Last week the Manager at Cambria had her transmission go out on the freeway.  She called R&M for help but the driver was going to take approx. 45 min to get to her. So Mike, the owner of R&M, jumped into his car and went to help her almost immediately!

Monterey Village Team
Thanks to the amazing job the Monterey Village team is doing; the client called us last week to see if we would manage his sites out of state! Great Job, Monterey Village!

Ed Morrison- Montery Village
MEB received a letter from a past resident at Monterey Village - directed at Ed Morrison.  Ed took such good care of him when he lived there 6 years ago, that now that he is returning to Phoenix, he has reached out to rent there again!  Great Job Ed!

“I need to get a ceiling fan in my apt, and I prefer Mel to do the work; he is a great maintenance man. I know it might take a little more time since I’m asking for Mel to do it, but like I said I’d rather have him as my maintenance man, and I am willing to wait if he is busy.”

A big tail wag to the team at Fiesta Park for not only receiving the Best Ratings Award from Apartments Ratings, but they are now 94% occupied and 100% market ready.  Great job Fiesta Park!

I have written to your management on a few occasions to let them know what a great job you do on a continuing basis and how I feel that you always go above and beyond the call of duty being manager at Starrview at Starr Pass. Now it is my wish to let you know that you have a wonderful maintenance staff.
Let me start with Nuria Quijada. Nuria has been assisting me in cleaning my apartment several times a year as there are many “chores” I am no longer able to do. Nuria not only does what you ask of her, she goes above and beyond what is expected. She always does more than I ask, and amazes me every time she cleans for me. For me, she is a treasure. I am so grateful that you have that service to offer your residents. Please let her know what an exceptional job she does.
Your new Maintenance Supervisor, Ismael Mendez is a true gem. The few things he has done for me have also been exceptional. Yesterday, you had to replace my refrigerator. I was astounded when I opened the doors and found that everything had been put back almost perfectly! I told you I thought he must have taken a picture with his cell phone and put everything back in place! Ismael has a great attitude and is always assisting when he can. He is a perfect example. Last week, my friend, who came for a wedding, and I were taking out bags of garbage. Ismael was coming by on the cart and stopped, took the garbage from us and took it to the trash bins! My friend was amazed. She asked if I got that kind of service and treatment all the time. I told her absolutely. Your staff goes beyond what is necessary for their job requirement.
            Gerardo Carlos is and has always been so very helpful with any and everything I have asked of him when repairing something in my apartment. And one of Gerardo’s nicest traits is that he leaves everything in perfect and clean condition. My past experience with maintenance staff is that sometimes they can track dirt in and not clean up after themselves. Not so with your staff.
The point I want to make with all three of these staff members is that in this day and age, there is no customer service anymore. People just don’t care how they treat other people. And it is a pleasure and a treat to be able to live at Starrview at Starr Pass and receive the excellent service from all of your staff. Once again, thank you for being the best Manager with the best staff of any place I have ever lived. I love my apartment, I love the area, and most important, I love how I am treated.”

A huge tail wag and Congratulations to Luz who received two awards at last’s week IREM Legislative Conference in Washington DC: A Rising Star and Most Increased Membership as the President of the Southern Arizona IREM Chapter in Tucson. It is a major accomplishment as this Chapter has struggled along to gain membership and momentum and under Luz leadership it made a complete turnaround!

Denise received this tail wag in a letter from a resident regarding an incident that happened at the property the night prior.
“I appreciate that Dee responded to my message as soon as she returned to the office this morning. I feel like the management is willing to work to keep all of the residents here happy and safe, and as a parent, I am beyond thrilled at this. I also appreciate the quick response, and reassurance that management will do what they can to prevent anything of this nature happening again.”

Thank you German, Gabriel, Justin and Dee for working through the weekend to prepare the both sites for the appraisal this week. We appreciate all of your hard work!

Thank you Sharon, Lori and Parrish for coming down to the Tucson office on Saturday night for 2nd Saturday Downtown.  They sold quite a few tumblers and lemonade to help Big Hearts for Little Hands, and this week the Girl Scouts also joined us and sold some Girl Scout Cookies.
